3) Rotate vase and select first bloom.

Cue Siberian Husky
She runs at the vase, excited to see what I’m doing. In addition to knocking the petals off about 75% of the flowers and almost bowling the vase over completely, she deposits an impressive amount of floaty white fur all over what’s left.

4) Glare at husky, husky looks pleased with self.
5) Pick up vase and return it to dresser.
6) Vacuum petals.
7) Make a cuppa.

I signed up on Dribbble as a spectator a couple of months ago, so that I could spend even MORE time ogling the work of designers, illustrators and artists whose skills reduce me to a snivelling pile of running mascara and soggy Kleenex.

Today, after receiving an invitation from the MASSIVELY talented Dave Hornsby, designer of ActionNotes (and many other lickable iOS apps), to whom I’d sent a gushing message about how beautiful his work is, I nervously uploaded my own ‘debut shot’.

I’ll be blogging separately about ActionNotes because it deserves proper attention but, if you can’t wait for that, go here and look for yourself. I’m not kidding when I say it’s SHINY and madly brilliant!

My Dribbble Debut

Yes, yes. I know I’m supposed to be making things look pretty around here. I’m on it!

Leaning against the kitchen counter, wearing white track pants and a pink tank top. I woke up 15 minutes ago and I’m waiting for the machine to finish firing espresso into my favourite coffee cup. That Sunday morning feeling, yes?

I reach up to ruffle my hair as I gaze out of the window into the garden and I hear buzzing.

Thinking a flying bug of some description is trapped in my bed-head curls I switch quickly from lazy ruffling to panicked shaking. I stop once or twice to listen and hear nothing. But, when I move to take my hand out of my hair I hear it again and panic just a little bit more.

It’s like some ridiculous scene on one of those awful ‘funniest home videos’ shows…

…until I realise that the sound I can hear is my metal watch strap rattling against my wrist.
